Every once in a while, I try to update this page, but really, I’m crap at this part.
I am an American from the Midwest. I came over to Glasgow back in 2003 to study at Glasgow University. Four years later, I had a Master of Arts in Scottish Literature and a job in a bar.
The bar job quickly became a career, of sorts, and I now run a bar in the West End of Glasgow. While I tend to blog a lot about my job, I do, every once in a while, write about my personal life, my husband-to-be, Kevin, or the Kids (cats), Miles and Dizzy.
I began this blog a looooong time ago, as a place to record the events in my life, so that my family and friends in the States could keep up with me. While the focus of my blog hasn’t changed, my readership has, and some people I’ve never met and don’t know are there, are tuning in. That’s cool.
Anyhow, here are some little tidbits of information about me, and the rest you’ll figure out as we go along. Of course, if there’s something you’re dying to know, just leave a comment, or email me.
- I like the smell of rain in spring.
- I adore the smell of roses
…but not lillies. - I love a good thorough thunderstorm
- I hate the smell of sausage rolls.
- but the taste of the rolls isn’t so bad.
- I crave Taco Bell at least once a day
- I have a black and white kitty. He’s a catnip junkie
- I am from the US, but moved to Glasgow 2 years ago.
- I picked Glasgow becuase I considered it to be the friendliest of places I visited.
- I have an ipod named Polly. But she has amnesia at the moment.
- I have an eccentric taste in music.
- I don’t like chocolate.
- I love the Wallace and Gromit movies.
- I love anything by Joss Whedon.
- I could eat 5 avacados every day of the week.
- I live on coffee.
- If I had to choose between a great burger and a great pizza, I’ll almost always choose the burger
- Writing down what colour my hair is would be daft, as I colour it a different colour every six weeks or so
- When I grow up I want to be an editor
- …or a millionaire
- I tear at my nails. I can’t help myself
- I’m not one of those girls who goes on a date and orders a salad and picks at her food. I have a very healthy appetite, which I’m not afraid to make known.
- I’m debating whether to start my own gossip column.
- I often say things I regret later becuase I try very hard to be funny.
- ..but in saying that, most of the time I’m hilarious
- for some reason the humour doesn’t translate well to this blog

- My accent has undergone a transformation since I arrived here 2 and a bit years ago.

- I have been here so long, that I now hate (hate) the American accent (Sorry, mom)
- Kevin and I are getting married on 31 October 2009 (woo!)
- I don’t watch that much tv, but the tv I do watch is usually on DVD
